This is a special small Reference Lenco MKIII with the complete if smaller new chassis with Ultimate bearing, and the plinth is built with the usual special tonewoods of my entire Reference line but also has special high density materials in the construction which makes it much heavier than it looks. It was originally designed to make Shootouts against the world’s best and priciest record players easier, due to size and weight, but there were no takers ;). It is finished in Tigerwood. Due to size it can only accommodate shorter tonearms. This one comes with the latest Triplanar VII U2 SE, a superb tonearm which achieves state of the art levels of information, outstanding imaging and great musicality all at once, a classic!
It is a trade-in against an Ultimate Lenco as the owner was flabbergasted at the improvement wrought over his original set-up Origin Live (OL) Resolution Mk 5 with a Conqueror 12” mk4 silver hybrid S2 arm and a Benz LP-S cartridge. For reference he already had a Lenco to compare to my own work: “I also own a Lenco L75 with a ADC 220 X (conical stylus) which gives me great satisfaction, especially given its price…”
His first report reads as follows: “Hello Jean, The Lenco was finally installed with a Zyx R50 Bloom cartridge for the time being. I’ll save my final impressions for later, when I’ve decided which cartridge will stay (we’ll try different Zyx cartridges to start with, as well as my Benz LP S), but what’s clear right now is that going back to my Origine Live (almost the same price as your Lenco, grrrrr) which isn’t even a year old is impossible. What you’ve already made me hear is truly astounding. Thanks for that!”
I will be in Europe soon to set up the Ultimate Lenco in person, while there I will go over this ‘table in person and pack it myself ready for shipping.
