Yes, even the light platter Lencos can be turned into serious high end machines capable of taking on five figure belt drives even in terms of detail and refinement, bass and dynamics a foregone conclusion.
I’ve sold a few MightyMites with heavy CLD veneered plinth, redone, professionally painted and modified chassis allowing Direct Coupling and a special TJN Mod to replace and improve on the original spring and a wheel tested for absolute concentricity for perfect speed stability. The buyers are great fans and are totally satisfied.
The original MightyMite has now been greatly upgraded with a special heavy aluminum platter mat bonded to the platter and acrylic mat bonded to that, and my special new Super Grease bearing for light platter Lencos, thus greatly enhancing the sonics to rival the legendary Garrards. The Light platters are magnetic, allowing only MMs, but now the MightyMite raises the cartridge high enough above the platter allows MCs with far more powerful magnets (similar to thick mats for use on the cast iron platters of Thorens TD-124 MKIs).
If a light platter Lenco is found and shipped to me, $1750 USD for the full rebuild, parts and modification, add $300 for special handmade veneer.
Buyer pays actual cost of shipping, it is small enough it can be sent regular post for roughly $100 to anywhere in the US.
