Thought I’d let you know that I managed to install the tjn kit without any hassles whatsoever, plenty of clearance at the point stipulated on the template.
When it was time to drop the needle on the record, it was wow! Immediately. There is no guess work or maybe, this time for the massive change came from 3 areas in particular. Resolution increase was stunning, severe improvements in transparency meant that I was hearing increased definition in my favorite ‘test’ records, Second was the Increase of bass response as well as bass slam from the lenco, I could attest to this change only because only 2 nights ago I had to make adjustment to my customized dht preamplifier to pull out a degree of edginess in the sound by slight adjustment in the power supply circuit reducing bass transients and attack as the main drawback of this mod.
But what heard was a big jump to where it was before the mod but even better now that the increase is even more than original! The way the lenco dishes out bass response is exactly what many has proclaimed the lenco to do, king off bass response among the idler drive tt’s out there.
Lastly, this mod resolved a problem I had with the lenco earlier, call it musicality or an increase in even order harmonics, this area improved tremendously to a point of my satisfaction, an area that my garrard 301 was better at all these while. Today, that difference just vanished. Just utterly remarkable.
I can’t help to notice that the blackness in the background, previously tremendously increased massively with the installation of my own bearing design was again increased by more! There is now stillness in between silent passages during playback, that could also explain why everything is just so darn crystal clear now!
The stock spring is indeed one of the biggest flaw or weakness of a lenco l75 in which without your this mod, just seems to make it not nearly there as ‘yet’.
Today this mod has leapfrogged the lenco over my heavily reworked garrard 301 by a wide margin.
What a genius of an idea! Best 75 bucks spent to date!
